SF Chronicle Previews Pi Day

by Eric on March 11, 2009

piThe San Francisco Chronicle for Wednesday previews activities for Saturday’s Pi Day celebration at the Exploratorium.

If you can’t make it out to the Exploratorium (or can’t find parking), you can vicariously participate:

Just as Shaw leads the local celebration, countless others will log onto the Web site MathematiciansPictures.com to watch a giant pi symbol drop down like the crystal ball in Times Square on New Year’s Eve. The pi-friendly site also sells commemorative mugs, posters and T-shirts that read “I (heart) pi,” and the “official pi day button.”

Here’s a few links to get you in the mood for Pi Day:

The pi drop will be found at MathematiciansPictures.com.

The complete schedule of San Francisco Pi Day activities is at the Exploratorium’s pi day page.

If you’re looking for more information on Pi Day or pi itself, check out the “Official web site for Pi Day.”
